The Film Faster Academy is a free library of written lessons on the craft and business of filmmaking. It exists to give members practical, honest instruction from people who actually do the work.
122 written lessons · Free to all members
The curriculum covers the full lifecycle of a film career — from writing and development, through financing and production, to distribution and festivals. Lessons are written by practitioners. We are looking for working professionals to contribute.
A single written lesson on a specific topic — a craft technique, a business process, or a practical guide. You write it; we edit and format it for the platform.
A short series of connected lessons that take a member through a complete topic — for example, attaching talent, structuring a financing waterfall, or navigating a festival circuit.
A structured course across multiple modules, designed to take a member from beginning to competence in a discipline.
Instructor terms — including attribution, compensation, and intellectual property — are still being defined. We want to get this right before we ask anyone to commit. If you express interest, we will share the terms for your review before any contribution is expected. You are under no obligation by enquiring.
Tell us who you are, what you do, and what you would want to teach. We will respond with next steps and the current draft of instructor terms.
