THE RULES FOR WHAT’S NEXT ARE COMING.

Official information

CURRENT SUBMISSION INFORMATION.

Submission Rules & Festival Status

Submissions are temporarily closed. The previously announced September 26–29, 2026 festival has been postponed. The next submission window and complete official rules are still being finalized. The information below describes the intended festival format; it does not open registration or replace a prior entrant’s accepted agreement.

1. Festival format

Film Faster 48 is a curated short-film festival, not a 48-hour production competition. Filmmakers will not be required to shoot, edit or finish a film within 48 hours merely because of the festival’s name. Previously completed films may be eligible under the next published call for entries.

2. Next submission window

No new paid film submissions or registrations are being accepted for the postponed event. New dates, venue, categories, film-length requirements, fees and application instructions will be published before submissions reopen. The old September 2026 deadline is no longer operative for new entries.

3. Eligibility and multiple submissions

Filmmakers must have permission to submit their work and all necessary rights for its included material. Age restrictions, entry limits and any fees for additional films will be confirmed in the next complete official rules. Do not rely on the superseded one-film-per-team or volunteer-crew requirements from an earlier challenge-format edition.

4. Selection and screenings

Submissions will be considered through the festival’s curated review process when the next event opens. Submitting a film does not guarantee selection. Official Selection status does not by itself guarantee a particular screening, distribution placement, professional review or appearance unless confirmed in the applicable selection notice and festival program.

5. Awards and industry opportunities

The next edition’s prizes, award categories and any opportunities involving production credits, compensation, equity or distribution are under review. Such benefits will apply only if expressly included in the final published rules and, where relevant, a separate written agreement. No submission or selection alone guarantees these outcomes.

6. Film rights and screening permission

Filmmakers retain their underlying film ownership except to the extent they expressly agree otherwise under an applicable written agreement. The precise screening, promotional and distribution permissions for future entries will be stated in the official terms before submissions reopen. Existing entrants should consult the agreement accepted at the time of their submission; this interim page does not retroactively amend those terms.

7. Existing registrants and support

If you registered or submitted under an earlier set of rules, keep your receipt and any accepted terms. Email support@filmfaster48.com with the entry platform and reference number if you need your original agreement, selection status, event update or refund review. Eligibility for refunds or other remedies depends on the original transaction terms, purchase channel and applicable law.
